The prelude
In our music classes, the emphasis is on providing the children with an introduction to music through having fun and laughs, lots of movement and interaction with each other and the carer who accompanies them. There is no room here for strict rules, and whilst the classes are structured, the atmosphere is upbeat, encouraging and very, very positive. Laughter is actively sought from all participants!
Pipsqueaks and your child's social and physical development
Attendance at these classes visibly builds confidence in the children; enhances their listening skills; encourages positive and co-operative interaction with others; aids co-ordination; develops their language skills through singing and imitation ... and it's a great chance for them to have fun with you, too!

A note about class structure and design
All Pipsqueaks classes are tailored to meet the specific developmental levels and needs of your child. This means that they are age-appropriate and therefore stimulating at the correct level for each child in the class. Our age splits work as follows:
- Little Squeaks - 6-18 months: In our introduction classes for babies, we look at helping them enjoy the feel and fun of music by learning to clap, to bounce in time to music and to discover sounds by touching and discovering them for themselves. These classes involve lots of cuddles and closeness with carers. Great fun!
- Pip Pip Hooray - 18-24 months: In these classes for toddlers, we are able concentrate more on the physical side to enjoying music with lots of action songs, dancing and marching around with vigour! Good, noisy and giggly!
- Pipsqueaks - 2-4 years: Our Pipsqueaks are now starting to learn about basic musical terms; working with rhythm, volume and speed; lots of jumping around and movement; singing and performing (for those who wish to!) and songs and rhymes.

Percussion instruments are used in all classes to support learning and because they're great to hold and bash!
